Last Day at Okuma...

Chris and I also rented jet skis on our last day there... We rode them together for awhile, but then when Chris started getting a little more adventurous and I felt like he was going to take those turns a little too sharp and throw me off the back of it into the icy cold water, I decided it was time for him to ride by himself... :)

That afternoon, after we'd left Okuma, we decided to stop by Hiji Falls. It's pretty close to Okuma, so we decided it would be best to stop by since we were up there. I'm pretty sure that it's Okinawa's only waterfall... wasn't much to see compared to Niagara Falls, but it was a fun hike (with about 4000 stairs) and the "nature" part of it was really pretty.

Don't worry... this isn't the waterfall. Actually all of this is man-made, but it was still pretty.
This is the waterfall... again, not that big, but it was pretty!
And this was along the 30 minute hike to get to the falls...

More Beach Pics...

On our second day at Okuma, we decided to do a little kayaking around the ocean... not too much to see, but we paddled out around this giant rock off the island... the water so was so clear you could see to the bottom of the ocean the entire way out.

Here's Chris looking really intense about paddling that kayak... maybe he's working so hard because I wasn't paddling much at all... :)
Chris was deployed with Jeremy to the desert, so Jeremy and his wife, Courtney came up to Okuma for a few days as well. We watched their little boy, Aaron, one afternoon while they went parasailing... Chris is giving him a ride as we walked along the beach... he kept trying to pull on Chris's ears while he was up there, which is what he's doing in the pic...

Since we have no children, we think it's fun to watch other people's kids and of course it's fun to take pics with them as well. So, we decided to bury little Aaron in the sand. He looks real unsure of what's going on, but he kind of liked it after awhile!

And this is him in his mom's beach hat... so cute!

My hubby is home!!

So, finally my hubby is home!! So glad to have him back...
I'll admit that I've been terrible about updating this while he was gone, but it was for 2 reasons... 1). I hardly took any pictures while he was gone and 2). I was generally really busy!
It seemed like he had been away forever, but at the same time, those 2 1/2 months went so quickly!

So, when Chris got back, we decided to take a little "vacation" up to Okuma. Okuma is a "resort" that the military owns about 2 hours north of where we live. I put "resort" in quotations, because it's more like a camping ground, with some rooms also available. But they have a lot of beautiful beaches and water sports. Chris obviously has been "away" for awhile, but it felt so great for me to get away from all my stuff for a few days.

So, this is what we did most of the time... lay on the beach!!
I did make us go putt-putting on afternoon... Chris and I are so competitive in everything. But it was a little hard to be competitive about this putt-putt because it was all made out of blacktop. So, we were both pretty terrible...
The water and coastline were beautiful when the sun started setting...
