So, the Moran family made it out to visit!! We weren't sure if it was actually going to happen, who would would actually make it, or when they'd get here, but it all worked out great! Everyone except Julie was able to make it out, and John and Jenny stayed a few extra days with us after the rest of the family had to leave....
Since there is literally 3 drink vending machines on every block in Okinawa, the boys had the opportunity to try lots of new drinks.... The C.C. Lemon was one of their favorites (kind of like a fizzy lemonade drink).
We also made it to a beach on Ikei (pronounced E-K) island one day... they had hard floating docks out in the middle of the water, so the whole family had fun rocking them and pushing one another off into the ocean....
All 9 of us stayed in our apartment for about 4 nights... a little chaotic with so many people in such a small place, but it actually worked out pretty well. Koshi had the roughest time with it. Apparently our dog doesn't like lots of new people... even after they had been here 4 days, she wouldn't let anyone touch her (not at all!) But the kids had fun taking her and Ally's dogs to the park one day...
We also took the fam to "Round One".... it's about 7 stories of non-stop sports and games.... the perfect place to take this family.... Here's a pic of them trying out the roller blading. The elbow, knee, and wrist pads and helmets may have seemed like a little too much protection, but they wiped out enough that it was probably a good idea.
And they loved the convertible... Funny how Chris and I never put the top down, but the boys especially couldn't wait to go cruising around the island!
We also took frequent trips to Yogurtland (which we had to ration out to everyone so it didn't cost the family $100 to get ice cream!)
We also took John and Jenny to the Teppanyaki place down the road... they cook Kobe beef steak and chicken in front of you on a grill... not too much different from places we have in the states, but it's delicious!!
Jenny and I (of course) had to go and get our toes painted at Cocok's!!
And I also got the chance to take Jenny and John snorkeling up at Maeda Point. Here's a picture of the view.... but the view below the ocean's surface was even more amazing. There were so many gorgeous tropical fish!!
