different views of what's sanitary...

So, the other night, Chris and I went out with a few of our friends to what we like to call "The Purple Awning Restaurant." (You find creative things to call places when you can't read the sign in Kanji).
Anyways, we'd heard the place was pretty good... and that you got a lot of food for your money. (Generally everywhere we go, we spend about $20 on dinner and Chris leaves hungry because they eat like mice here!)
The place specialized in soba (a thick noodle soup), so we all ordered our dinners, which came out pretty quickly (typical here). My friend, Ally, looks into her bowl of soba and finds a long dark hair in it... she looked pretty grossed out, so called the waitress over, showed her the hair and the waitress took her food back to the kitchen.
About 2 minutes later, they brought her out another bowl of soba, just like she ordered. I said, "Wow, that was quick!" and then we all realized that it was a little too quick...
So, we're pretty sure that they took the bowl back, picked out the long black hair and then brought the same bowl back to her...
Ally was a great sport and ate it anyways, but let's just say that I'm not sure we'll be returning to the Purple Awning Restaurant anytime soon... :) Never in America!

I went to "Rose Garden" once with a friend and I was putting some parmesean cheese on my pasta and wasn't looking... when I did look down, I saw the bowl of cheese was infested with a ton of ANTS. The lady gave me a new bowl of cheese and walked away like it was no big deal that there could possibly be some ants in my pasta... needless to say I haven't been back since!
